Whispers of the nature  2025-2026

Whispers of the Nature is a fluid series in watercolor and acrylic, featuring flowers, plants, insects, and animals. Each piece lets colors move freely, as if nature is whispering soft secrets through the paint.

Roses in Spring

Roses in Spring

This watercolor brings together in one image the rose from bud to full bloom, then to early decay, insect damage, broken stems, and the remaining receptacle after wilting. In the spring breeze, the pink, yellow, orange, and purple blossoms appear as charming as a cream cake and as lively as a young girl. I first use wetonwet washes to let colors transition naturally, then apply drybrush to define the details. The leaves at the top are arranged into a handlike shape, symbolizing nature's gentl

The Rose Outside My Window

The Rose Outside My Window

This piece is a watercolour painting at the foot of Cang Mountain in Yunnan, China. Facing the towering mountain and the vast Erhai Lake, I found myself reflecting on how small a single flower is, yet how tenacious its will to live. It also reminded me of one's helplessness and struggle against unchangeable social rules and trends. The flower stands weak and alone, but still turns toward the boundless sea, waiting for a new beginning.

Spring Colour

Spring Colour

This fluid acrylic piece was made on a quiet afternoon. I chose colours with lower saturation — pale yellows, soft pinks, muted greens — to evoke the tender light of spring and the calm atmosphere of that season.

Phoenix and Fern

Phoenix and Fern

In this fluid painting, I used highly saturated colors to shape two tenacious living forms. Fluid painting requires moving the canvas as the paint flows. During that process, I used an air blower to direct the paint, bringing out the features of a phoenix and a fern.

The Back of the Rose

The Back of the Rose

This painting comes from a simple wish — to paint the rose outside my childhood window. It was never perfect, with rain‑marked petals and a crooked branch. But I remember how the morning sun touched it first, then me. Only after finishing did I realize I wanted to keep not just the flower, but that quiet stretch of time.

Flora Paradoxa:The flowers from another world  2026

A photographic series on flowers, started with a simple premise: what if flowers weren't just flowers? An experiment exploring the boundaries between photography and painting.

Drowning Flowers  2025-2026

A series recording the distorted appearance of flowers: sometimes submerged upside down, direction lost; other times optical illusions or in fire. Yet beauty remains, distorted and defiant in their own reflection.

Fragility Can Speak 2021-2025

A series exploring the possibilities of fusion between painting and textiles.

Pink Prairie Gentian

Pink Prairie Gentian, faded Jasmine and Persian Buttercup leaves arranged, photographed and reproduced in a mix of embroidery and hand painted felt.  The edges of some leaves and petals have been burnt to give a more withered look.

White Garden Roses

An arrangement of white garden roses, jasmine buds, and foliage, executed through embroidery using stranded cotton floss and fabric. The composition was styled, photographed, and reproduced for creating a layered botanical texture.

Yellow Ranunculus

Yellow ranunculus and leaves created through a combination of ribbon embroidery and hand-dyed, heat-molded floral techniques, I applied a handcrafted dye gradient effect on the yellow petals and used a scorching process on the leaves.

This is a mixed-media textile work in which I used silk, organza, cotton fabric, beads, yarn, paper, glass, wool, and more. Various flowers are arranged, photographed, and reproduced through a mix of silk ribbon embroidery and hand-painted felt, knitting, and crochet. The edges of the paper and the broken petals give a withered look. I incorporated glass elements to represent self-reflection, hoping that viewers, including myself, can see their true selves, the deep emotions within, and those precious memories through the mirror. In this piece, I aim to express the fleeting nature of flowers, evoking reflection on the uncertainty and impermanence of everything in nature, with the hope of inspiring a greater capacity to treasure time and life. It may be a way of self-healing and healing others if it resonates with the audience.
